Operations

SWITCHES

Spotlight: For on/off, mode switching, lockout function and output selection in Spotlight mode.

Floodlight: For on/off, mode switching, lockout function and output selection in Floodlight mode.

ON/OFF

Press and hold either of the two switches for 0.5 seconds to turn the headlamp on/off.

The headlamp will memorize the last selected output level for each light source and recall it when switched on again.

MODE SWITCHING

Press and hold either switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the corresponding light source on or off.

The Spotlight and Floodlight can be operated independently or simultaneously.

OUTPUT SELECTION

Spotlight Mode: With the Spotlight switched on, single click the Spotlight switch to cycle through the available output levels.

Floodlight Mode: With the Floodlight switched on, single click the Floodlight switch to cycle through the available output levels.

Red Light Mode: Double click either switch to enter Red Light mode. Single click the corresponding switch to cycle through the available red-light outputs.

The headlamp will memorize the previously selected output level for each light source.

LOCKOUT FUNCTION

Lock: With the headlamp switched off, press and hold both switches simultaneously for 3 seconds. The headlamp will blink four times in Low output of Floodlight mode to indicate that it is locked.

Unlock: With the headlamp locked, press and hold both switches simultaneously for 3 seconds. The headlamp will blink four times and activate in Low output of Floodlight mode to indicate that it is unlocked.

In locked status, any operation other than unlocking will trigger four blinks in Low output of Floodlight mode to indicate the locked status.

CHARGING

1. Uncover the anti-dust cap and plug the USB Type-C charging cable into the charging port of the headlamp.
2. The normal charging time is approximately 2.5 hours from depleted to fully charged.
3. During charging, the battery indicators display the charging status.
4. When charging is complete, all four battery indicators will remain constantly illuminated.
5. The headlamp can be operated at reduced output levels while charging.
6. Once charging is complete, disconnect the charging cable and replace the anti-dust cap to maintain the headlamp’s waterproof and dustproof protection.

Note: The USB Type-C charging port is located inside the waterproof headlamp body.

BATTERY LEVEL INDICATION

With the headlamp switched off, single click either switch to check the battery status. The battery indicators will remain illuminated for approximately 3 seconds.

The battery indicators display the remaining battery level as follows:

• Four lights on: 100%–81%
• Three lights on: 80%–61%
• Two lights on: 60%–41%
• One light on: 40%–21%
• One light flashes: 20%–0%

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

1. Unscrew the battery cover anticlockwise.
2. Insert the battery with the anode (+) facing toward the battery compartment as indicated.
3. Screw the battery cover back on clockwise until securely tightened.

The HM65R V2.0 is powered by one Fenix ARB-L18-3400 rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery, which is included with the headlamp.

LOW-VOLTAGE WARNING

When the battery level becomes critically low for the selected output, one of the battery indicators will flash to remind the user to recharge or replace the battery.

The headlamp will automatically reduce output as necessary to extend runtime.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

The headlamp will accumulate significant heat when operated at high output levels for extended periods. When the headlamp reaches its preset temperature threshold, it will automatically step down to a lower output to reduce heat.

Once the temperature decreases, the headlamp can return to a higher output when selected.

HEADBAND ASSEMBLY

Note: The headband is factory assembled by default.

1. Attach the headband to the headlamp as shown in the product instructions by sliding the band into the headlamp holder.
2. Adjust the headband by sliding the buckle to the required length.
3. The headband can be adjusted to provide a secure and comfortable fit during use.

USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

• Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the headlamp and will void the warranty.
• Fenix recommends using a high-quality Fenix 18650 rechargeable battery.
• If the headlamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent potential damage from electrolyte leakage.
• Turn off and lock the headlamp or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
• Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the O-ring with an approved spare.
• Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves the headlamp’s performance. Dirty contacts may cause the headlamp to flicker, operate intermittently or fail to illuminate.
• If the headlamp fails to operate correctly, first check the battery level and ensure the battery is inserted according to the correct polarity.
• If the battery contacts or contact points are dirty, clean them with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.

WARNING

1. This headlamp is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing severe eye damage. Avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes.
2. The headlamp can accumulate significant heat when operated at high output levels for extended periods. Take care when handling the headlamp after prolonged use.
3. Do not cover the headlamp while it is switched on.
4. Always lock the headlamp or remove the battery when storing or transporting it to prevent accidental activation.
