OPERATIONS

BICYCLE LIGHT

SWITCHES

Spotlight switch
Controls the Spotlight mode.

Floodlight switch
Controls the Floodlight mode.

ON/OFF

Press and hold the Spotlight switch for over 0.5 seconds to turn the Spotlight mode on/off.

Press and hold the Floodlight switch for over 0.5 seconds to turn the Floodlight mode on/off.

OUTPUT SELECTION

Spotlight Mode

With the Spotlight mode switched on, single click the Spotlight switch to cycle through:

Low → Med → High

Floodlight Mode

With the Floodlight mode switched on, single click the Floodlight switch to cycle through:

Eco → Low → Med → High

LOCKOUT FUNCTION

Lock: With the light switched off and unlocked, double click either switch on the bicycle light within 0.5 seconds. The light will blink twice in Eco output of Low beam mode to indicate that it is locked.

Unlock: With the light locked, double click either switch on the bicycle light within 0.5 seconds. The light will enter the selected mode at its lowest output level to indicate that the light is unlocked.

INTELLIGENT MEMORY CIRCUIT

The bicycle light automatically memorizes the previously used output level, excluding Turbo and Flash modes. When the light is turned on again, it will recall the previously selected output level.

CONNECTING WITH BC45R

FIRST CONNECTION

1. Press and hold either switch on the bicycle light for 5 seconds. The OLED display will show “Connecting”.
2. Single click any switch on the wireless remote. The OLED display will show “Pair?”.
3. Single click either switch on the bicycle light. The OLED display will show “Connected!”, indicating that pairing is complete.

Once paired, the wireless remote will automatically memorize the paired status and does not need to be paired again.

Note: The initial pairing process must be completed within 60 seconds, otherwise the pairing process will be cancelled automatically.

OUTPUT SELECTION

1. With the light switched on, single click the Spotlight switch on the wireless remote to cycle through Low → Med → High.
2. With the light switched on, single click the Floodlight switch on the wireless remote to cycle through Eco → Low → Med → High.
3. Single click the Functional switch to enter Turbo mode.
4. Double click the Functional switch to enter Flash mode.
5. Single click any switch other than the Functional switch to exit Flash mode and return to the previously used output level.

INSTANT TURBO

With the light switched on, single click the Functional switch on the wireless remote to enter Turbo mode.

Turbo provides a maximum output of 3300 lumens.

FLASH

With the light switched on, double click the Functional switch on the wireless remote to enter Flash mode.

Single click any switch other than the Functional switch to exit Flash mode and return to the previously used output level.

BATTERY LEVEL INDICATION

The BC45R features an OLED display that provides real-time information including the current battery percentage, charging status, brightness level and lighting mode.

BATTERY SPECIFICATIONS

Warning: Do not mix batteries of different types or ages. Doing so may cause damage to the bicycle light or the batteries being used.

*18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Using low-quality batteries or mishandling batteries, such as short-circuiting or overheating, could lead to combustion and jeopardize the safety of users and property. Use quality batteries with circuit protection to reduce the potential for combustion or explosion.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

1. Rotate the tail cap button according to the direction of the OPEN logo and pull out the battery case.
2. Insert the batteries according to the polarity markings inside the battery case.
3. Insert the battery case into the light body.
4. Once the battery case is flush with the light body, rotate the tail cap button in the opposite direction of the OPEN logo.

WIRELESS REMOTE BATTERY REPLACEMENT

1. Insert a coin into the back of the wireless remote.
2. Rotate the coin counterclockwise to open the battery cover.
3. Insert the CR1632 button battery.
4. Replace and tighten the battery cover by rotating it clockwise.

Note: Replace the CR1632 button battery every 3 months to maintain optimum performance.

CHARGING

1. Turn off the bicycle light and open the anti-dust cover.
2. Plug the USB Type-C end of the charging cable into the charging port of the bicycle light.
3. The OLED display will indicate that the light is charging.
4. When charging is complete, the OLED display will indicate a full charge.
5. Unplug the charging cable and close the anti-dust cover.

Note:

• The Eco, Low and Med outputs of Floodlight mode and the Low and Med outputs of Spotlight mode can be activated while charging, but charging time will be prolonged.
• The normal charging time for the included Fenix ARB-L18-3400 batteries is approximately 3.5 hours from depleted to fully charged when using a 9 V/2 A charging adapter.
• The wireless remote cannot be operated while the bicycle light is charging due to charging circuit protection.
• The BC45R supports fast charging via USB Type-C.
• Charging specifications: 9 V / 2 A, 18 W.
• Recharge a stored bicycle light every four months to maintain optimum battery performance.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

Bicycle Light and Wireless Remote

1. Loosen the screw of the bicycle mount.
2. Position the bicycle mount on the desired location of the handlebar and fasten the screw.
3. Hold the light and slide it into the mount until a distinct click is heard.
4. Fasten the strap of the wireless remote to the desired position on the handlebar.

Note:

1. Adjust the direction of the light before testing the power and functions of the bicycle light.
2. Use the supplied shims according to the diameter of the bicycle handlebars:
   • Thick shim only: 22–28 mm
   • Thin shim only: 28–32 mm
   • No shim required: 32–35 mm

INTELLIGENT OVERHEAT PROTECTION

The bicycle light will accumulate heat when used at high output levels for extended periods.

When the bicycle light reaches 55°C / 131°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature.

When the temperature drops below 50°C / 122°F, the bicycle light will gradually recall the preset output level.

LOW-VOLTAGE WARNING

When the battery voltage becomes low, the BC45R will provide a low-voltage warning and automatically reduce output to prolong battery life.

The OLED display also provides battery status information to help monitor the remaining power.

USAGE AND MAINTENANCE

• Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the bicycle light and will void the warranty.
• Recharge or replace the batteries when necessary to ensure normal operation.
• If the bicycle light will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent potential damage from battery leakage.
• Recharge a stored bicycle light every four months to maintain optimum battery performance.
• Long-term use can result in O-ring wear. To maintain a proper water seal, replace the O-ring with an approved spare.

WARNING

1. This bicycle light is a high-intensity lighting device capable of causing severe eye damage. Avoid shining the light directly into anyone’s eyes.
2. The bicycle light can accumulate significant heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. Pay attention to safe operation and avoid touching hot surfaces.
